Warm Goat Cheese Dip with Fig Jam and Balsamic Onions

Whenever I see warm goat cheese on a menu, I can never resist. It’s so incredibly tasty and pairs perfectly with wine (my favorite is sparkling). I went with baguette bread toasted in olive oil for my dippers, but this dish can easily be made gluten-free by swapping out seedy gluten-free crackers and veggies for dipping. With spring and summer parties right around the corner, and I am sure this one with be showing up on lots of my dinner party menus!

1. Preheat oven to 400.
2. Place the olive oil, garlic, goat cheese, cream cheese, romano (or parmesan), salt and pepper in food processor and pulse to combine.

3. Transfer goat cheese mixture to a 6-inch cast iron skillet or small baking dish and bake for 15 minutes.

4. Meanwhile, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add onions and cook, stirring often, until golden brown. Add balsamic, salt and pepper and stir to combine.

5. Once out of the oven, spoon fig jam over the warm goat cheese and top with onions. Serve immediately with bread, crackers and/or veggies.
