1. Preheat oven to 425. Lay fries on a baking sheet in a single layer and bake for 20 minutes.
2. Meanwhile, heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add turkey and onion and cook until turkey is crumbled and no longer pink. Add the chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, cinnamon, salt, pepper, tomato paste, chicken broth and beans and cook for 5 minutes longer.
3. Place the cooked fries in a cast iron skillet and top with chili, cheese and giardiniera. Bake for 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
4. Once out of the oven, top the cheese fries with sour cream and serve.
Turkey Chili Cheese Fries with Giardiniera
Serves 8
All you need:
1 (20 oz.) bag frozen sweet potato fries
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound lean ground turkey
1 small yellow onion, diced
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 cup chicken broth
1 (15 oz.) can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
1 cup freshly grated white cheddar cheese
1/2 cup hot giardiniera, drained (I like Marconi brand)
2 tablespoons sour cream, for garnish
