Winter Sangria with Cranberry and Pomegranate

As winter approaches, it seems as though it becomes a little more difficult to find fresh produce that looks and tastes like it was just picked. However, there are certain ones that thrive in the colder climates. This sangria recipe is beautiful and successfully highlights all of those gorgeous winter fruit flavors and colors. This drink is perfect served with sharp cheeses, olives and crusty bread. Your friends will be impressed!

1. Place diced fruit and 1/2 of the pomegranate seeds in a large pitcher and stir to combine.

2. Top with sugar and the cinnamon stick.

3. Pour red wine over the fruit.

4. Add cranberry and fresh orange juice and stir again.

5. To serve, fill glasses with ice and spoon sangria over. Finish with ginger ale and garnish with pomegranate seeds and orange slices.
