Cinnamon Maple Energy Bites

Since it seems like I’m always on-the-go, snacks are an essential part of my day. There are so many different ways to make energy bites, but I’m fond of a sweet cinnamon flavor to go along with milk or coffee in the morning. When I was growing up, I loved getting cinnamon-sugar pop tarts from the vending machine at school, but little did I know how much sugar were in those! These bites are a great substitute to give to your kiddos for an after-school snack (or enjoy yourself!).

1. Place oats in a food processor and pulse until they form fine crumbs.

2.  Add protein powder, cinnamon and wheat germ and pulse again.

3.
Add coconut oil, almond butter, maple syrup, vanilla and salt and
process for 30 seconds. Add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until a thick
dough forms.

4. Roll the dough into 15 bite-sized balls. Store the bites in an airtight container.
